Who runs First Diaries
First Diaries is operated by Marcos Y., Bergstrasse, 8708, Mannedorf, Switzerland. Contact: [email protected]. Please do not attach private memories or identity documents to an initial enquiry.
Using the service
First Diaries lets an owner collect private memories, moderate them, read an editorial book and manually give one stable edition. Contributors do not need an account. The living diary can continue after gifting; later contributions do not automatically appear in the delivered edition. Technical limits protect storage and processing and are not commercial subscription plans.
Your content and originals
You retain your rights in the content you contribute. You permit First Diaries to store, securely process and display it only as needed to provide the diary and any authorized publication or export. Original contributions are preserved separately from presentation edits where safe, subject to deletion and retention. Do not upload content you lack permission to share or files that violate another person’s rights.
Invitations and moderation
The owner controls invitations and approves content for the book. Contributors should use their own declared name and must not impersonate another person. Do not share access links publicly, bypass quotas, upload malicious files or attempt to access another diary. Suspicious content may be quarantined, rejected or removed. Report misuse through the contact address.
Gifts and withdrawal
A confirmed gift contains fixed revisions and media. The recipient’s permission applies only to that edition and can be revoked. Privacy withdrawal and deletion take priority over edition stability and may change its pagination. Owners should review the complete preview before confirming. Sending a new edition or adding chapters is not currently available.
Availability, export and closure
Processing may take time and can fail when a file is unsafe or unsupported. The interface reports pending and failed work. Export is a portable copy of safe original data and metadata, not a promise of printed-book or PDF output. Keep a personal export when needed. Account deletion removes access and starts the documented deletion process. No paid subscription or purchase is offered in this P0.
Retention and deletion
We keep diary content while it is part of an active diary or delivered edition, subject to withdrawal and deletion. Deletion blocks access immediately and queues removal of originals and derivatives. Unsafe or abandoned uploads and temporary exports have bounded, configurable expiry. Encrypted backups expire under the operational retention schedule; they are not erased instantly. A minimal deletion record is reapplied before restoring access from a backup. Exact active-storage and backup periods remain subject to verification and policy approval before launch.
Access, correction, export and privacy requests
Owners can export safe originals and metadata, change their diary presentation and request deletion in settings. Contributors and people mentioned in a diary can contact us to request access, correction, withdrawal or deletion, or object to processing as applicable. We may ask for proportionate evidence to verify the request without disclosing another person’s diary. A copy already downloaded by a recipient cannot be remotely erased. You may contact the Swiss Federal Data Protection and Information Commissioner about data-protection concerns; other rights can apply depending on your circumstances.
